FIFO Focused Communities

A plane flies overhead on a clear day

Ngala offers FIFO Focused Communities with the proud support of RIO TINTO and WACOSS to build understanding and explore solutions to the needs of commuting workers and their families across WA.

Service providers in Albany, Busselton, Bunbury, Geraldton, Carnarvon, and Broome work with Ngala to deliver the project in these communities. The FIFO Focused Communities initiative has extended from 2015 to 2017.

If your organisation is interested in being part of the project in Perth, or one of the locations above, we will explore the local needs of long distance commuting families and their use of community services then deliver a free workshop for service providers.

The workshop for professionals includes:

    • Identifying Fly-in, Fly-out and Drive-in, Drive-out in your region,
    • The issues faced by commuting workers and their families, and
    • The direct support services commuting workers and their families may need in your community and how these needs may be best met

For information and current activities, please contact or call (08) 9368 9333.
