Ngala on Tuesday: Parenting and Play Time
Held weekly at the Frank Konecny Family Centre corner Parmelia Ave & Skottowe Parkway, Parmelia, 9am - 11am.
Ngala Parenting and Play Time provides opportunities for dads, mums, grandparents, aunts and uncles to discuss and share their early parenting ideas and concerns, and to learn about other helpful resources in their community
Come along and meet Ngala staff, meet other families, learn about the importance of the early years, and share your parenting ideas and challenges in a relaxed and playful setting.
Morning tea, laughs, and good conversation guaranteed.
Baby Parenting & Play Time
Held weekly at the Frank Konecny Family Centre corner Parmelia Ave & Skottowe Parkway, Parmelia, Mondays 10.00 - 11.30am.
For dads, mums and extended family with babies (antenatal to about 1 year).

Antenatal Connections
Ngala at Kwinana staff visit the Parmelia Medical Centre every fortnight as part of the Centre’s antenatal clinic on Thursday mornings.
Mums , Dads and Grandparents can chat with Ngala staff before or after they see their doctor about issues related to antenatal care and education, adjustment to new roles, early brain development, early parenting, and useful local services and activities.

Ngala staff also attend some of the antenatal education classes held at Rockingham General Hospital. Mums and Dads- to-be will have the opportunity to consider how their lives will change with the arrival of a new baby, and where and how they will be able to get ongoing support in their new roles.

Parenting Workshops
From time to time Ngala hosts parenting workshops in Kwinana. Dads, mums, grandparents and carers are all encouraged to come along. Some workshops are held in the evening.
Topics include getting to know your new baby, adjusting to becoming a family, sleep and settling, nutrition, toileting, guiding children’s behaviour, and choosing quality childcare.

Little Possums Dad’s Playgroup
Held at Frank Konecny Family Centre on the first and third Saturday of each month 9am to 11am.
This is a special opportunity for Dads to build a relationship with their children, discuss "Dad type" concerns, meet other Dads and their kids all in a father and child friendly space.

Aboriginal Playgroup
Held every Monday morning 9.30am – 11:30am for Aboriginal families and their children at Bright Futures Family Day Care, 26 Bolton Way, Orelia.
The Playgroup is a great place to catch up with other parents, families and friends; learn new things to do with your children at home; discover different ways of parenting and get some more ideas and to share experiences with other parents. The children will love it because they can have fun, have new and exciting experiences, make new friends and get ready for preschool.

Kwinana Active Parents
This popular 8 week program for Dads and Mums and babies 0-12 months, is hosted by the Kwinana Recquatic Centre.
Kwinana Active Parents is a program that lets parents spend quality time with their babies while at the same time enjoying a specialised exercise program on land and water. There is also time for meeting other families and talking with representatives from other organisations about early parenting and child health and development.
