Being a Grandparent

 --- Grandparents page photo

It takes a village to raise a child and grandparents are a very important part of that village.

Many grandparents are involved in their grandchildren’s lives, supporting their children and their grandchildren by being sources of love, care, experience and information. Grandparents can compliment the family unit, benefitting both the grandchild and their parents. Grandparents quite often have time when parents are very busy juggling multiple demands. In some cases, grandparents can even assume care of their grandchildren full time.

As a grandparent, your support and help in aiding your children in the care of their children, can be beneficial to the child's development , health and enrich their lives.  There have been many changes in raising children in recent times, and there are many resources in the community, online and at Ngala that can assist you in understanding these changes.
