MyTime WA
Ngala is the lead agency for the MyTime
program in Western Australia, currently collaborating with 20
service providers across the state to deliver 28 MyTime groups to
local communities.
MyTime is funded by the Australian Government Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA).
What is MyTime?
MyTime is a peer support program for parents and carers of children with disabilities, chronic health conditions and other high/complex needs.
MyTime aims to enhance parent, carer and family wellbeing through the provision of peer support groups. The groups aim to provide a space for parents and carers to come together, to share their stories, to take part in self care activities and to gain information about parenting and caring for their child.
Who is MyTime for?
Any parent or carer of a child (up to the age of 16) who has a disability, chronic health condition or other complex need. Play Helper supervision is provided for children up to school age, children attending the group are the responsibility of their parent / carer at all times. Groups are open to parents from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Mothers, fathers and other family carers of children who are eligible to receive the Carer Allowance (Child) can join MyTime. For more information about eligibility for the Carer Allowance, visit http://www.centrelink.gov.au/
