Parenting & Play Time Groups

(also known as "Coffee Mornings")Come and meet Ngala staff and other families in a fun, informal environment

Ngala Parenting and Play Time offers a friendly and fun way for families to connect with Ngala.

Held weekly in six communities in the metropolitan area, Ngala Parenting and Play Time provides opportunities for dads, mums, grandparents, aunts and uncles to discuss and share their early parenting  ideas and concerns, and to learn about other helpful resources in their community.

Ngala believes that there is nothing quite like talking with another parent living through a similar experience. Parenting and Play Time offers parents opportunity to learn from other parents and make new friends.

Unlike a playgroup the sessions are facilitated by  Ngala’s professional staff the 1.5 or 2  hour sessions are  co-facilitated by 2-3 staff with expertise in early childhood, early parenting, nursing, group facilitation and community development.

Parenting and Play Time is Ngala’s “shop front” for the community. Local families can come to access information about parenting, learn about their children’s development through play, talk through an issue with Ngala staff and other parents, and find out about other activities and services in the community.

Parenting and Play Time provides Ngala with a “barometer“ to local issues. The information gained from conversations with families at these sessions guides Ngala’s  planning for this service and other local activities and services.

Come along and meet Ngala staff, meet other families, learn about the importance of the early years, and share your parenting ideas and challenges in a relaxed and playful setting.

Morning tea, laughs, and good conversation guaranteed.
