Ngala Launched 120 Year Celebrations
Posted on: Mon 28 June 2010
In 2010, Ngala turns 120 and to kick off celebrations to mark this milestone, a launch event was held on 9 June 2010.
The event was held at Ngala HQ in Kensington and was attended by a large number of supporters, volunteers and dignitaries including: Child Protection Minister Robyn McSweeney, Federal Member for Swan Steve Irons, Shadow Minister for Child Protection Sue Ellery, the Member for South Perth John McGrath, the Member for Maylands Lisa Barker and the Labor Candidate for Swan Tim Hammond. Also present on the day was Acting Director General of the Department of Communities Eddie Bartnik, the Director General of the Department for Child Protection Terry Murphy, representatives from Woodside and Ngala's partners and President of the Friends of Ngala Barbara Scott.
The event paid tribute to Ngala's important history. There were a number of displays which showed how Ngala has changed over time - they contained photographs, documents and clippings representing the stages of Ngala's evolution.
It was a fantastic day, it was great to see volunteers and supporters of Ngala - past and present - come together.
We would like to thank everyone who came along to celebrate and help mark the occasion.
