Expression of Interest – Middle Years Hip Hop Activity

Expressions of Interest are being sought from organisations for the delivery of the Middle Years Hip Hop Activity, commonly known as the Beat Walkers, through the Swan Communities for Children (CfC) Initiative.

Middle Years Hip Hop is recognised as an evidence-based program by the Australian Department of Social Services. The Activity provides free, culturally safe after-school workshops, performances and school holiday masterclasses, for predominantly Aboriginal children aged 8-12 years. Conducted by qualified and experienced teaching artists, the Activity mixes aspects of dance, rap, singing, video tech and urban art with traditional Aboriginal dance, language and song

The current facilitator is moving on to other opportunities as an educator within the Midland community and is seeking to transition the Activity for the period 1st July – 30th December 2019 working alongside the successful applicant so as to maintain the fidelity of the program and provide a smooth handover for staff, children, families and partner organisations.

It is the intention that the successful applicant will be in a position to independently deliver the Middle Years Hip Hop Activity, on behalf of the Swan Alliance – a partnership between Mission Australia, Anglicare WA and Ngala, for the period 1st January – 30th June 2020.

Please find attached the Expression of Interest application which is Due by 30th June 2019.
