On Tuesday, 10 June, Ngala Kensington hosted a breakfast event in recognition of Infant Mental Health Awareness Week 2025. Running from 7:00am to 10:00am, the event brought together internal staff and external clinicians, fostering a shared space for learning, reflection, and connection.

The morning featured a keynote presentation by Dr Bronwyn Leigh, Clinical Psychologist and a leading voice in perinatal and infant mental health. Dr Leigh delivered a compelling 90-minute talk titled “Using a Novel Approach to IMH Advocacy through the ‘Speaking for the Baby’ Campaign.” Her insights underscored the importance of amplifying infant voices in clinical practice and advocacy, inspiring attendees to reflect on how we can better support babies and their families.

One attendee shared:

“Thank you so much for organising. Working in private practice, I miss the connection with colleagues, and this was a lovely way to feel connected. I have followed Bronwyn for a long time, so to hear her speak was a real privilege. I loved her illustrations—what a wonderful resource. So generous of her to share with us.”

In addition to the keynote, the event offered an opportunity for informal networking over breakfast, allowing participants to reconnect with peers and strengthen collaborative ties across services and disciplines.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and creating more opportunities to celebrate and support infant mental health.
