Parenting and professional support in the Pilbara.

Build your knowledge and confidence with Pilbara Families Building Pilbara Communities (PFBPC).

Ngala has been working, with the support of BHP, since 2012, to build and assist ongoing capacity as well as provide expertise to services working with families in Port Hedland and Newman. PFBPC increases and provides access to appropriate support services for families living in the Pilbara with young children, with the ultimate aim of reducing barriers that prevent families from moving to or remaining within the region.

PFBPC takes requests from the community, then runs sessions with its community partners. Each visit brings education and training. Community partners in the region include, The YMCA, Epic and the Child and Parent Centre in Hedland.

For the ease of access for Pilbara families, consults and webinars are available.

Proudly sponsored by BHP.

We have ongoing webinars planned for the remainder of 2020 and visits to Newman and Hedland are scheduled. If you have any enquiries or would like to make a request to partner with us, email:

Newman Neighbourhood Centre (NNC) offer this each school term, when there are sufficient numbers of parents. Ngala works with NNC to support the local parenting conversations, using video conferencing for the group.
