Ngala has partnered with WA Country Health Services to support country families birthing in the Perth Metro area.

If you’re from the country and planning to deliver your baby in the Perth Metro area, a Ngala Child Health Nurse (CHN) may be able to visit you before you return home to complete your baby’s first Purple Book check. This includes:

  • Visiting you and your family at your temporary Perth Metro address
  • Checking your baby’s growth and development
  • Checking your health and recovery
  • Providing support and information on caring for your baby
  • Linking your family with services as required

How it works.

Following the birth of your baby, you will be contacted by your regional Child Health Nurse, who will:

  • Assess how you and your baby are getting on, offer support and advice as required
  • Arrange your baby’s first Purple Book check (0-14 day Home Visit)
  • Refer you to the Ngala CHN’s if you meet the CFHVS criteria, and you would like to access this service

Once the referral has been received and assessed, a Ngala CHN will contact you to discuss and arrange your appointment before you return home to the country.
