Solid Start Webinar Peel

This interactive webinar covers the introduction of solids for parents with babies aged 4 – 7 months. A Solid Start helps parents introducing solids to their baby, sharing information based on current research. The interactive webinar will give parents an opportunity to share knowledge with other parents about how their baby grows and develops. You will be given tips to help you with this important milestone in your baby’s life.

The Parenting Programs are provided by Ngala and funded by the State Government through the Child and Adolescent Health Service

Tuning in to Kids

Success in the classroom depends on more than just your child’s IQ. The way your child identifies, understands and manages emotions can have an impact on everything from his or her relationships with classmates to performance in the classroom. This 6 week parenting program explores how parents can support their children to develop emotional intelligence.

Protective Behaviours

This Protective Behaviours information session advises parents/carers how to promote the safety and wellbeing of all children by providing tools, strategies and resources to reinforce the key themes and concepts. The session is designed to open the doorway to discussion and break down societal norms that can inhibit disclosures.

Successful toileting

This information session explores the issues of acquiring toileting skills for children over 3.5 years. Discussing practical strategies and resources this session will explore the issues which might impinge on a child acquiring the toileting milestone.

Guiding children’s behaviour 2-5 yrs

This information session explores the idea of behaviour as developmental cues from children. Challenging and confronting behaviours of 2-5 year olds are considered in this workshop within the social environments that your child experiences. Throughout this interactive workshop, you will be linking developmental aspects and research to feel confident in understanding and guiding your child’s learning in their expanding networks of social and family situations.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

YMHFA is an internationally recognised program which teaches adults how to assist adolescents who are developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.
Learn about adolescent development, the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in young people, where to get help and how to provide first aid in a crisis situation.

 

And so to sleep

This information session explores children’s sleep patterns and rhythms which evolve as their brain continues to make sense of their world. Participants will explore and help identify both the parents and child’s role in relation to sleep and nutritional requirements for this age group.

Kids and Anxiety

Whilst some feelings of anxiety can be a normal part of children’s development, an increasing number of children are experiencing higher levels of anxiety that are impacting on their everyday life. This information session aims to assist parents and caregivers to understand anxiety and provides simple strategies for parents and caregivers to use at home.

Tasty toddler

This information session discusses strategies to help establish and encourage long term healthy eating behaviour for children as their growth pattern changes.

Transition to school

Starting school can be both an exciting and scary time for you and your child. This session will discuss the transition phase and provide guidance to help ensure your child is ready.
